Maruikel believes that charging modules generally encounter six common faults in use, namely module protection, module failure, uneven current, communication interruption, half-load output and voltage output failing to reach the set voltage. Therefore, the fault diagnosis of the charging pile can be carried out according to the following steps:
Check whether the power cord is damaged or loose, and ensure that the socket and working voltage are normal. If the power problem cannot be solved, it may be necessary to replace the power cord or socket. Check whether the charging interface is blocked by foreign objects which might cause poor contact. Clean the interface and ensure the connection is firm. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to replace the charging interface. Check whether the communication between the charging pile and the EV is normal. This may be due to damaged cables, loose connectors or incompatible communication protocols. Repair cable or connector problems, or upgrade charging pile software to be compatible with different vehicle models.
Most modern charging piles are equipped with intelligent alarm systems which will automatically give an alarm when an abnormality is detected. For example, overvoltage, undervoltage and overtemperature of the AC input of the charging module will lead to the protection of the charging module. Please confirm according to the fault code. If the cabinet is equipped with a glass door or airtight, it may lead to overheating protection of the charging module. If the ambient temperature of the computer room is too high, it will also lead to overheating protection of the charging module.
The controller of the charging pile is its "brain", which is responsible for coordinating and managing the whole charging process. Many controllers have self-checking function, and can run self-checking programs by connecting computers and using special software. If the controller fails, it may be necessary to replace it with a new controller.
To identify problems such as short circuits, open circuits, overcurrent, or undervoltage in the circuit, professional electrical parameter detection by professionals is required. Specifically, it is necessary to use professional electrical testing tools such as voltmeter and ammeter to measure key electrical parameters such as input/output voltage and current of the charging pile. Compare the measured results with the values in the equipment specification sheet or within normal working range. Any significant deviation may be a sign of electrical fault.
For faults that are difficult to determine by other methods, spare parts replacement method can be used. By replacing the components (such as power module, communication card, etc.) that may be faulty one by one, and observing whether the faults disappear, the fault scope can be narrowed and the problem can be finally determined. This method is especially suitable for dealing with complex or intermittent faults.
Poor connection or interruption is often the common cause of charging failure. Ensuring that the connection between the charging pile, the power grid and the user's vehicle is an important part of avoiding charging faults. Check whether the power plug, the vehicle charging interface, and the cable connection between them are tight and not loose. At the same time, confirm that the power supply is stable and meets the requirements of the equipment.
Charging piles are usually equipped with a fault code manual or online support resources, which list various fault codes and their corresponding fault types and solutions in detail. When a specific code appears on the display screen of the charging pile, the operation and maintenance personnel should consult the manual quickly and conduct troubleshooting and repair according to the guidance provided.
Long-term use of charging piles will inevitably lead to some faults. Timely maintenance and prompt handling of charging pile faults can make the charging of EVs smoother. In addition to the above methods, during the maintenance of charging piles, you can also clean and maintain the charging pile in daily life and check the charging pile of EV regularly to ensure its normal operation.
