04How to layout heavy truck charging stations
1. The route planning should be clear
Layout at the source station:Building charging stations at coal, steel, gravel, mines and other cargo sources can ensure vehicle flow and charging capacity. These places are the starting points for heavy trucks, which need to replenish electricity after loading in order to carry out transportation work smoothly.
Layout at destination station:We can build some charging stations in places like ports and docks, where large trucks often stop, so that large trucks carrying heavy goods can come here to charge after delivering goods, and then they can continue their next trip after being fully charged.
Layout of refueling stations along the way:That is to say, we need to build charging stations along the roads where large trucks often run, such as national highways and provincial highways. In this way, large trucks can easily find a place to charge when they are on the road, without having to take a long detour or wait too long for charging. In this way, large trucks can deliver goods faster and their efficiency will be improved.
2. Site conditions are of utmost importance
Area and terrain:We need to find a large, flat open space to arrange the charging piles and parking for large trucks. If there is a 6*4 large tractor, it can be more than 17 meters long. Let's leave some space. Even if it is 20 meters long and 2 meters wide on both sides, a car will take up about 80 square meters. If you want to install 10 charging piles, it will take 800 square meters, and this does not include the space for large trucks to turn. So, we have to find a place that is big enough.
Convenient transportation:We have to make sure the intersections of charging stations are wide and not blocked by large trucks coming in and out. If the roads are easy to navigate, charging stations will be more accessible, and large truck drivers won't have to wait too long. In this way, everyone can save time and efficiency will be improved.
3. Grid access conditions as basic support
Close to power facilities:When we build a charging station, it is best to find a place close to the substation or power line, so that we can pull fewer wires and save money. In addition, we must ensure that the power grid is strong enough to meet the high power requirements of the charging station, otherwise the power grid cannot keep up and charging will be slow.
Grid capacity assessment:Before we build a charging station, we need to check whether the local power grid is strong enough to handle the electricity required by the charging station. If the power grid is not strong enough, we need to talk to the power company to upgrade and modify it to ensure that it can supply electricity.
4. Leave room for development
Venue reservation:When we plan charging stations, we have to look ahead and think about whether there will be more large trucks in the future and whether the demand for charging will increase. Therefore, we have to leave some space for future expansion. If the heavy truck market is hot, charging stations must also keep up, otherwise there will not be enough space and development will be delayed.
Power capacity reservation:Not only do you have to leave space, you also have to leave some "room" for electricity. If you want to install more charging piles in the future, or want to charge faster, the electricity must keep up. When designing, you have to think about how much electricity you may need in the future, so as not to let the electricity hold you back.
5. Equipment selection
High power equipment first:Because large trucks need to be charged quickly and fully, when we choose charging piles, we have to choose those with high power, so that the charging is fast, the large trucks have to wait less, and the driving is more efficient.
Equipment performance and quality:In addition to charging speed, the quality of the charging station is also very important. You have to choose a device that has good heat dissipation, stable electrical isolation, and high power conversion efficiency. This way, charging will be safer and the device will not break down easily.
