05 Heavy Truck Charging Station Construction Process

1.Preliminary planning and preparation

Market Research: Market research is similar to start a treasure hunt in the field of EV. Our initial task is to calculate the current number of EVs running on the roads and predict whether the number is likely to grow in the coming years. In the next phase we must study the charging habits of EV drivers, understanding the typical charging patterns, such as the time of day they prefer to recharge and the locations.

Moreover, remember to check whether the government has any preferential policies for EV charging, such as discounted electricity rates. Subsequently, we need to see who is currently engaged in the charging pile business, what services they provide and the charging costs, and the degree of satisfaction of theusers.

Once we have achieved a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of these situations, we can have a brainstorming to conceive innovative ideas. These ideas should be aimed at enhancing the popularity of our charging piles. Site selection: In search of an ideal place for a charging station, it is desirable to choose locations with a high density of Evs, such as the sites close to main roads, besides busy shopping malls, within the residential complexes, public parking lots, and highway rest areas, etc. You also have to make sure that the place can be rented and sign a contract with the landlord to prevent him from being lured away. In this way, more charging fees and profits are secured.

Project feasibility study: It is prerequisite to calculate construction costs of the charging station, return on the investment, and the costs of daily operation. Then we need to see how long it is expected to take to earn our money back. All of this depends on the market we research and the location we choose. Next, we need to find a way to ensure that this business can survive and make money no matter what. If the situation is not good, we can adjust the price or find more locations to build stations so that the money will not be wasted.

2.Procedures and approval

Charging station record: If you want to apply to the local government departments for building a charging station, you need to prepare some things to report. It is necessary to take the boss's ID card and tell them where you want to build the charging station and how many charging piles you plan to install. In addition, you have to tell them total costs of the entire project will cost. Remember to bring some documents that prove who your company is, such as Company Registry. You can submit the application after making the preparations.

Land audit: After greenlights your building a charging station, you still have to go to relevant goverment agency to ask them whether the land is legal for the station. You also have to find out the landlord, and your legitimacy to use it.

Planning Review: After the filing is completed, you still have to go to the Planning Bureau to ask if the government has any other plans for the land you chose, or if there are any new plans for the next few years. Make sure your charging station project will not be demolished or affected by other government plans.

Construction Permit Application: Next, you need to prepare some documents about how to build and what it will look like (engineering planning, design documents), and the impact of the project on the environment (environmental assessment report), etc. After preparing these, you need to take them to the relevant government departments to apply for a certificate for them to agree to your construction, which is a construction permit.

3.Electricity application and construction

Electricity application: Then, depending on how big the charging station you plan to build is and how much electricity it needs, you have to go to the local public utilities company to apply for electricity. The utilities company will personally visit the site and help you decide on the most appropriate power supply method, such as how to pull the wires and specifications of the transformer to use.

Power Construction:  After the power supply company gives you a power supply plan, you have to find a professional construction team to help you connect the grid. This construction team must be qualified, that is, they must be professional enough to help you install the transformer, lay the cables, and set up the distribution box, in short, to enable the charging station to use electricity.

4.Equipment procurement and installation

Purchase Charging Station Equipment: After the filing is completed, you still have to go to the relevant goverment agency to ask if the government has any other plans for the land you chose, or if there are any new plans for the next few years.

Equipment installation: At this point, you need to start installing charging piles in the place you have chosen. This includes digging the foundation, installing the charging piles, and testing their working conditions. At the same time, you also need to hang up the nameplate of the charging station, set up signs for navigation, and prepare safety equipment such as fire extinguishers. By following these steps, your charging station can be regarded as having been established and ready for operations and serving.

5.System debugging and testing

System debugging: This step is to check and debug the "brain" of the charging pile - the control system, the display interface we usually use, and the system that can manage it remotely. We are obliged to guarantee the seamless operation and error-free functionalities.

Functional testing: By this time, we have to actually try it out. For example, use your phone to scan to see if the charging works; see if you can clearly see what the charging pile is doing in the background; and find various types of cars to try to see if the charging pile can handle it. All in all, you need to do a comprehensive inspection to ensure that the charging pile can do everything and do it well.

6.Localization transformation and certification

Localization transformation: This means that if the charging pile is to be sold to different countries or regions, some changes must be made according to the local conditions. For example, the system must be able to display the local language so that users can understand it; the payment method must also keep up and support the payment methods commonly used locally; additionally, it must comply with the laws and regulations there and not be arbitrary. In brief, the charging pile ought to integrate seamlessly into its new environment, as if it were an innate and harmonious part of it.

Certification and Licensing: It is essential to guarantee the safety of the charging piles and ensure their compliance with local safety regulations, avoiding any potential risks. This is a prerequisite for applying for the certificates and permits that validate the charging piles' compliance and safety standards. Once these are obtained, the charging piles can be regarded as having set a firm foothold in the local region, enabling users to charge their vehicles worry-free.

7.Operation and maintenance

Online operation: Once the charging piles are installed and checked, the charging station can start operation. At this stage, we have to tconsider the appropriate charging rates; we also have to provide good service to users and solve any complaint on time to ensure a satisfactory user experience. By taking these measures, the charging station can continue to operate for a long time and attract more people to charge.

Maintenance and Optimization: The charging piles need to be regularly "checked" to see if there are any problems. They need to be fixed quickly when found out to be prevented from becoming major problems. Moreover, we need to listen to what everyone says and see where we can improve. If there is something inconvenient or unsatisfactory generally agreed, we need to fix it to make the system more user-friendly. By implementing these measures, the charging piles will be maintained in optimal working condition, ensuring that users enjoy a satisfying charging experience.
